The World of…Oushak Rugs

Tufenkian’s Sebastia Fawn was highlighted in Veranda’s feature article “The World of…Oushak Rugs.” Sebastia Fawn is from Tufenkian’s Armenian collection

“Exported since the fifteenth century from the Turkish town that gives it’s name, the Oushak is a classic wool rug with plenty of plush warmth, both literal and visual. Historically, its earth tones and geometric floral patterns were associated with kings – the rugs appear underfoot in early Renaissance royal portraits – but today’s versions aren’t as formal. They feature softer palettes and motifs in combinations that fit the bill in alls orts of rooms, regal or not.” --text by Mario Lopez Cordero, produced by Jill Brown & Eugenia Santiesteban Soto

Dave,

The rug [Lama solid mahogany] came today and we just pulled it upstairs, one stair at a time, and placed it on our bedroom floor.

All we can say is we're speechless!  It is perfect, beyond awesome, and as my husband, John, said, "equal to the best work of art that we have (which is beyond a compliment)". All three rugs from Tufenkian have changed our lives for the better...
