Portland Showroom Relocates to Historic Pearl District New York, NY—Tufenkian carpets, the world’s premiere manufacturer of handmade, luxury Tibetan and Armenian rugs, announces the relocation of its Portland, Oregon showroom. After more than 20 years as part of Portland’s Nob Hill neighborhood, Tufenkian’s showroom is moving to the heart of the city’s historic Pearl District. The exposed brick, high ceilings, wood columns, dual levels and large windows all contribute to a contemporary aesthetic with deeply traditional roots. In a neighborhood many consider to be the center of Portland’s cultural life, this new 8,000 square foot, street-level space offers the design community an exciting, convenient shopping and working experience. In addition to offering Tufenkian’s Core Tibetan and Armenian Collections, the showroom also offers the Designers’ Reserve Collection, a collaboration between James Tufenkian and designers such as Barbara Barry, Mark Pollack, Kevin Walz and Vicente Wolf. The showroom is unique in that only half of its space is dedicated to presenting a comprehensive selection of Tufenkian’s Core Tibetan, Armenian and Designers’ Reserve Collections. The other half is dedicated to presenting Tufenkian’s newest retail venture, The Tufenkian Archive Store. The Archive Store, which offers newly-discounted and one-of-a-kind creations at 30-60% off of retail prices, is open to the public as well as to the trade. Tufenkian’s time-honored processes—including producing the rugs entirely by hand—ensures that each finished product is a distinct work of unparalleled beauty and enduring quality.
