Tufenkian Heritage Hotels
James Tufenkian was honored by Armenia's Ministry of Economy last week for the contributions to tourism in the developing nation made by Tufenkian Heritage Hotels. A gold medal was awarded to Tufenkian by Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan at a ceremony in commemoration of the United Nations World Tourism Organization's annual World Tourism Day. The ceremony marked the first time the Armenian government conferred these awards.
Tufenkian Heritage Hotels is Armenia's first chain of luxury boutique hotels. Like its sister enterprises-Tufenkian Artisan Carpets, Harvest Song Artisanal Preserves and the non-profit Tufenkian Foundation-Tufenkian Heritage Hotels was founded on a mandate to use the marketplace to promote social change.
