About Tom Buell
Tom Buell, for thirty years a professor at PSU, taught writing and literature. He began creating art in the 1960's, began to show in Portland in the '70s, and was for ten years a member of Gallery 114.
He says about his work: "the pieces owe the most to the Dadaists in their playfulness. If I let the disparate pieces sit long enough in my clogged studio, the "reconstructs" fall together, if I'm lucky in a new arrangement, a new utility."
