Visit the 14th biennial Lake Forest Showhouse & Gardens event to see Tufenkian’s Tiki Sand in a room designed by Soldedad Zitzewitz.
Zitzewitz is one of over 30 top interior and landscape designers signed on to participate in this years event, presented by the Lake Forest Chapter of the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago, taking place at the Thorndale Manor and Coach House in Lake Forest, IL. In addition to the spectacular design, the event will also host a Workshop Seminar hosted by renowned New York designer and Tufenkian friend, Charlotte Moss. Other exciting appearances will include HGTV’s Monica Pedersen, Walker-Simmons, Darcy Bonner and Frank Ponterio, as well as the Infant Welfare Society of Chicago’s Centennial “Celebrate the Children” event.
The Showhouse is located at Thorndale Manor, a grand historic estate home, built in 1916 by celebrated architect Howard Van Doren Shaw, set on 19 majestic acres in Lake Forest with 25 rooms. Also on the property is a charming coach house, featuring 5,500 square feet of living space and a beautiful courtyard overlooking expansive gardens and grounds.”

A Human Rigs Day celebration to benefit Falling Whistles, an LA-based nonprofit organization working toward peace in D.R. Congo. Tufenkian’s Melrose Ave showroom, was transformed by Gather Events & Occasions into an experiential space filled with a pop-up photo studio, a screening room showing “Peace is the New Frontier” and “Collective Rights”, a human rights awareness statement. A silent auction gallery run by Presence Entertainment with gifts from John Varvatos, The Four Seasons, Ted Baker & Catherine Malandrino. Portland Showroom Hosts PREIS Event, March 25th
Tufenkian’s Portland Showroom is teaming up once again with the Portland Real Estate Industry Social team to host this months meet up. Join the group tomorrow, Friday March 25th at the Beverly (formerly the Rosemere) in NE Portland. Enjoy a glass of wine and appetizers while wandering through the multi-family residential units and networking with fellow realtors

In addition to introductions to the Modern Two and Three collections, we are excited to unveil brand new designs from Kevin Walz and Vicente Wolf. Both designers have been collaborating with James Tufenkian for over 15 years and are adding new pieces to Tufenkian‘s renowned Designers‘ Reserve collection.
From Walz; the innovative Clover Loop in Matcha and Molecular Loop in four bold colorways such as Killer Blue and Rosehip. Vicente Wolf introduces pieces such as Dunes in five nautral colorways, as well as Vincent and Me made in our organic Yak-Soo construction and inspired by a Van Gogh painting.

Thursday, January 13th was an active day for Tufenkian Portland. David Tufenkian visited the Tufenkian Portland Showroom with over thirty members of his community from Terwilliger Plaza (http://www.terwilligerplaza.com/). David recounted his personal story of falling in love with rugs and his adventures in selling them to the Portland community from 1971 to 2002. Great stories were shared and everyone had the chance to explore the Showroom and Archive and learned more about the Joys and Art of Tufenkian Tibetan rugs.
Later in the evening Tufenkian Portland hosted the monthly meeting of the Northwest Society of Interior Designers. This was the first gathering of NWSID in the Tufenkian Showroom since the move to 515 NW 10th Ave in Summer 2008. Attendees delighted in the beauty of the showroom and had a change to engage marketing guru Beth Ford in a dialogue about marketing an independent business today. Some participants enjoyed micro brews crafted especially for the occasion. NWSID was founded over twenty five years ago by David Tufenkian and other significant members of the Portland Interior Design community.
Another Successful Pre Metrocon Kick Off Party has passed! Over 300 designers and clients came through the International at Turtle Creek to check out the newest introductions from each showroom.
