2022 is looking bright and colorful, and we’re thrilled! Industry experts say a landscape infused with colors that inspire freshness, serenity and balance are taking center stage. Take a look at this year’s trends in home décor and be inspired to take bold leaps with your design elements.
Color Trend 1: Gray-Green
'This sophisticated hue symbolizes balance and harmony often seen in the natural world. It is subtle enough to be used in many ways throughout the home, such as a pop of color on the kitchen cabinetry or a colorful welcome in the entry. Green will be a color to look out for this year. A light grey-green, sage green, and an emerald green.'

We’ve curated several Tufenkian selections that will add instant impact with greens.
Façade II Azure – Tessellate Collection
Color Trend: Multiple Greens
Luxuriously tactile underfoot with an aesthetic nod to classical mosaics, our Tessellate Collection effortlessly combines the modernity of pointillism with a blend of time-honored weaving techniques and forms. The resulting texture - both visual and tactile - is the hallmark of these rugs. Facade II features a strong mosaic of tonal colors, a rug design made to define the modern home. The subtle interplay of light and shadow across the mixed pile and flatweave surface invites a coziness both difficult to replicate and eager to be enjoyed.
Handloom Solid Green – Best Buy Collection
Color Trend: Green
Handloom Solid Green is made of 100% Tufenkian Bamboo Silk for a lustrous finish. Bamboo silk is a soft, luxurious fabric that is similar to traditional silk in look and feel but is a more sustainable and lower-cost alternative.
Bamboo silk rugs are exceptionally attractive and decorative carpets that bring warmth to a space and enhance a room. By combining the more delicate silk with the more durable bamboo, this rug blend still offers much of the desirable qualities of silk rugs, including the brilliant sheen and reflective properties that offer a luxury look and feel.
Color Trend 2: Earthy Tones
'Gray-green isn't the only organic hue catching our eyes for the upcoming year. As a matter of fact, many designers predict that greens of all undertones and shades will skyrocket to popularity as people yearn to bring a sense of nature into their homes. Expect fabrics featuring emerald or leafy green tones popping up all over the market in the coming months. Earthy neutrals and nature-inspired greens are going to be the go-to colors for 2022. Shades of green are on the rise from sage to deeper tones. You can always count on a rich shade of green to evoke the calming, enveloping spirit of the great outdoors.'

'A gabbeh is a handmade Persian rug, traditionally woven by Qashqai or Luri weavers in Iran. These rugs are and were simple, whimsical, or modern in design, often using geometric and stylized human, animal and plant forms. The word Gabbeh translates closely to unfinished or unclipped. Originally these rugs were woven for the weaver’s own use with the pile left much longer than normal rugs. They were sometimes used as sleeping rugs. A small number of older gabbehs were woven with undyed wool; the colors being ivory, beige, and browns.
Most of the recent gabbehs are filled with color with the weaver’s creativity being given free rein. There is nothing subtle or understated about them. The beauty of these rugs is their unmistakable uniqueness. A few of the more daring pieces have no design at all with only wool quality and variegation of color dictating the design elements.'

Color Trend 3: Citron
'Sunny shades are making a splash in the design scene once again as people look for ways to warm up their home. In particular, buttery and citron tones resembling the petals of a sunflower seamlessly energize any space they are deployed in. Think of colors that are grounding and calming but also uplifting and cheerful, for simple, natural and beautiful spaces.'

EXPERT TIP: To avoid a dated look, turn to nature-inspired hues like citron yellows and earthy olive greens.

Minos Sage – Tessellate Collection
Luxuriously tactile underfoot with an aesthetic nod to classical mosaics, our Tessellate Collection effortlessly combines the modernity of pointillism with a blend of time-honored weaving techniques and forms. The resulting texture - both visual and tactile - is the hallmark of these rugs. The triangulated pattern of this Minos Sage rug is made warm and inviting through the inimitable charm and nuance of the variegated color palette, a rug design made to define the modern home. The subtle interplay of light and shadow across the mixed pile and flatweave surface invites a coziness both difficult to replicate and eager to be enjoyed.
Color Trend 4: Warm Neutrals
'Warm, neutral paint colors are having a moment as well. Along with bringing warmth and versatility to a space, a neutral paint palette can instantly make a room feel cozy and comforting. Some of my favorite neutrals are Neutral Territory, a sandy beige with subtle red undertones, and On Point, an airy greige that gets brighter in natural light.
Consider a rich neutral for a high-traffic area of your home, like your living room, for a versatile shade that will work with a variety of decor styles while creating a more inviting ambience.'
-Nicole Gibbons, Founder of Clare
This Tufenkian selection will add instant warmth while remaining neutral.
Shanti Silver – Tradition Deconstructed Collection
Shanti Silver inspires with a timeless style of traditional elegance, epitomizing luxury flooring that embodies modern heritage. A warm, silvery palette features a small-scale pattern in sophisticated contrasting tones.
Color Trend 5: Grays
Since grays are so subtle and calming, they make an ideal choice for color drenching - where one color is applied to most elements of a room, including the walls and trim work. Saturating a space with a gray monochromatic palette allows the hue to take over, exuding an intense sense of calm, airiness and serenity.
'Grays paired with blue tones bring in elements of a clear summer sky which truly brings the outdoors into your home,' says Maryann Cartwright, design manager at Graham & Brown.
Want to introduce another tone or two? Try pairing your gray with a deep-sea teal, or create a warm, fun contrast with a mustard yellow or deep aubergine.
This hand-picked Tufenkian piece keeps you true to the gray hue with subtle, sophisticated impact.
